The project also included the development of the new town centre in Orléans, with a hotel, two office buildings, retail and commercial space, a seniors’ home, seniors’ condos, mixed residential units, a new gymnasium, green space and all supporting infrastructure, including a public roadway. The project capital investment over time is expected to be approximately C$200 million.

Since opening on-time and on-budget in 2009, the SAC has become a leading venue for the arts in the Ottawa region. It features Harold Shenkman Hall, a 505-seat fully-serviced performance venue, as well as the more intimate 100-seat Black Box Theatre.
The SAC houses resident artistic partners such as the Arts Ottawa East, Gloucester Pottery School, Mouvement d’implication francophone d’Orléans, Orléans Young Players Theatre School, and the Ottawa School of Art Orléans campus, as well as several galleries and public art installations
