Quinite Consolidated Courthouse

Project highlights

Belleville, ON

C$247 million

The 171,446 square foot, six-storey Quinte Consolidated Courthouse, complex consolidated the Superior Court of Justice and Ontario Court of Justice, which previously operated in four court locations, and rejuvenated Belleville’s historic courthouse district.

The project, which achieved LEED® Gold certification and BOMA Best Platinum, includes 10 courtrooms, one motions room, and five conference suites, as well as parking for 275 vehicles. The facility was constructed using sustainable practices and an energy-efficient design, including a 360 square-metre green roof and the ample use of natural light.

The courthouse was a finalist for the 2015 P3 Awards for the Best Designed Project awarded by Partnerships Bulletin/P3 Bulletin.
