What to expect

Forum is recruiting for an Analyst who is ambitious, dynamic and results oriented. The successful candidate will play a key role in evaluating investments across Canada in a variety of asset classes and will be involved in all aspects of the investment process. The successful candidate will also assist with asset management functions including valuation and preparation of monthly and quarterly reporting.

Required experience


  • Provide assistance and support to the Investment and Asset Management teams.
  • Underwrite real estate investment opportunities (acquisitions/dispositions) and manage the due diligence process – build complex dynamic financial models, financial analysis, research, develop investment memos, pitch books.
  • Create and maintain financial models using Excel and Argus for existing portfolio and new acquisitions.
  • Review and analyze documents such as leases, environmental and structural reports.
  • Assist in creating and developing investment memos and recommendations to investment committee.
  • Manage the quarterly property valuation process and preparation of internal and external reports.
  • Assist in performing reviews of valuations for investments and monitoring potential financing and exit alternatives.
  • Research and analyze industry and market data.
  • Attend investment committee and executive meetings as required.



  • 2-4 years of relevant analytical experience in real estate capital markets, investment banking, direct buy-side or private equity
  • University degree in Finance, Economics, business/Commerce, Engineering or related discipline
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and proficiency in ARGUS Enterprise
  • Experience with the financial modeling of real estate proformas, including single and multi-asset developments and acquisitions, along with complex equity waterfall structures
  • Experience managing, analyzing and interpreting data and conducting due diligence
  • Highly analytical, strong work ethic with high degree of professionalism and integrity
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong commercial sense developed through experience analyzing and reviewing many opportunities
    CFA, or CPA, CA or MBA designation is considered an asset
