In 2006 Forum Equity Partners acquired a national portfolio of 46 Speedy Muffler, Brake and Wheel locations in a sale leaseback transaction with SMK International, who simultaneously entered into a long term lease for the properties.  The portfolio consists of 184,000 square feet in Ontario, Quebec, Alberta,  Nova Scotia and New Brunswick.

In order to select an investor, SMK International engaged a professional broker/advisor to assist in conducting a full marketing and bidding process.

Established in 1956, Speedy is a Canadian leader in its field, with over 200 "Speedy" and "Minute" locations across the country.

Typical Minute Muffler and SMK stores are situated in quality locations along major thoroughfares.  The portfolio consists of established and well-seasoned properties, which have been in operation for at least 25 years, and are difficult to duplicate at current replacement costs.
